Until Keytastrophe, this hack has pretty much consumed 80% of my free time. It started as me being stupid and learning how to use the program, but after advice from Golden Yoshi (who I have to thank so damn much for all his help along the way, and beta testing absolutely everything) it turned into this.
Basically, this hack is done. Now, I use basically lightly. Extra 3 4 5 and 6 are incomplete, and that is it. Everything else is done, but I lost motivation for this hack. Big time. I call it complete though, because 1-1 to 6-8 is done.
There are probably still a plethora of minor glitches, but after playing through it six million times, there is nothing game breaking, except a part in 4-3 where you can't get 100 points. This happened because my Welcome level and 4-3 intertwined their data and corrupted each other - so I got to pick which one worked. >_>
I am proud of how this turned out - I am proud to call it the second completed Yoshi's Island hack ever. To be honest, I don't care if anyone else is proud, because this is a personal achievement for me, and I'm quite happy to say so. For those who have been waiting years for this .. here is the link you have wanted:
Kamek's Revenge.ips
Note: Bugfix version available, see this thread for details.
Features:
-50 brand spanking new levels, ranging from easy difficulty to pretty damn hard difficulty.
-Lengthly levels, ranging from 5 minutes to half an hour (there are plenty of mid-rings, but you can use save states I guess if you get stuck badly)
-The first Yoshi's Island hack to ever have ExGFX, so to speak. All the level icons are edited, and most sprites have slight GFX edits.
-Some slightly tweaked music, but again, that's another thing I lost motivation on.
-And more stuff which I don't remember.
So yeah .. enjoy what's here anyway. Please don't post glitches here, since this is the last time I'll be working with this hack. However, if there is something absolutely devastating that you absolutely CANNOT continue on, then I will fix it I guess.
Instead of screenshots, I'll link the three movies I posted earlier to give a sample of what to expect:

So that's all. Thank you to everyone who has supported me for the last two years, and I hope you all enjoy this. Kudos to those who beat it!
ALSO, PATCH IT TO A CLEAN, HEADERED V1.0 ROM
Jan 07, 2010 Video of me getting a perfect score on the bonus level 5-9, 'Kamek's Revenge', of the SNES version of Yoshi's Island. In addition to the perfect score I.
Yoshi's Island is one of the best games of all time!! This game brings back alot of memories for me. My wife and I bought a used original SNES console at a local gaming store for $35 back in 2002. They were cheaper and easier to come by at that time, now you're lucky if you can get one under $50. When we bought it I knew I had to have any Mario games I could get my hands on. In the glass case I saw three games that were still in the box... Super Mario Kart, Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island (YI), and they were $20 each! I couldn't believe they still had em new. Now of course I was familiar with Mario Kart and Super Mario Brothers 1, 2 & 3 but Mario World and Yoshi's Island were new to both of us. I bought all those motherfuckers right then and there lol. For the next 4 months we played Mario games any chance we had. We practically mastered and beat every one. We both particularly liked Mario World and Yoshi's Island (my wife didn't care for Mario Kart for some reason but I'll save story that for my next ROM post - hint, hint).
Yoshi's Island is a rather easy game but fun as all hell. At first I thought it was for kids because of the crayon/pastel graphics but in 20 minutes I knew it was something special. I really loved how you can collect eggs and shoot em, plus how Yoshi runs in the air when jumping and how it delays the jump was pretty handy. Since the invention of emulators I don't even pull out my SNES anymore, because they emulate the games so exact it seems pointless. To this day I play Yoshi's Island and love it just as much as that first day.
Here's the wiki for some fun info
NOTE: I've included some other ROM hacks created by developers that simulate the original YI game but with all new levels and difficulty. The most popular YI hack is SMW2+ that was developed by programmer/ROM hacker Golden Yoshi and released in 2005. It's pretty difficult for the average player like me. This IPS hack is already patched but you have use the Zsnes emulator with this particular hack though. Golden Yoshi is currently working on SMW2+2 that promises to be just as good as his first hack but with improved leveling of difficulty that starts off easier and eventually gets more difficult in the higher levels. There's a demo he released in 2007 to give you an idea of what the game will be like but it's limited to level 3-1 and is quite easy up to that part. I'm very excited for the final release (Spring of 2008!). This one you also have to use Zsnes to play the ROM. The next YI hack is Yoshi's Island: Kamek's Revenge and was programmed by S.N.N. and took two years to complete. He released the completed hack in September 2007 but it apparently has a few glitches and some unfinished levels. This one is fucking amazing & really fun also but is actually harder than SMW2+. I highly recommend this one! I particularly like these two hacks more than the original game, most likely due to the fact that they are more challenging which means more replay value. The last one I've included is called Yoshi's Islands Frozen Paradise Demo 4 that I couldn't find any info on... it's a demo that's limited to the 4 levels. Give these a try if you love YI.

Here's a Google Video of some kid who plays every single level of SMW2+. This guy absolutely sucks at this game but it's the first time he's ever played YI, and it just happens to be a ROM hack lol which tend to be a bit harder than original games. To see a list of all the videos just click 'more'.

Here's a YouTube video playlist of every single level of Kamek's Revenge by Cauchemar89. He's a Swiss lad who's actually quite funny and loves to swear every time Yoshi gets hit. I'll admit that I had to reference one of his videos for a part I was stuck on.
