Or so the legend says. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island was later released for the Game Boy Advance called Super Mario Advance 3. Later on Nintendo made Yoshi's Island DS (Also called 'Yoshi's Island 2') for the Nintendo DS. Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island was released in April 2014 on the Virtual Console along with Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Characters Main.
Special Items[1] are a class of items that appear in the SNES game Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its GBA port, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. Unlike standard items, they are stored for later use and can be selected for immediate use during a level via the pause menu. They can be collected by winning them in Bonus Challenges and Mini Battle Games. Up to 22 Special Items can be saved in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and up to 27 Special Items can be saved in Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. The Special Items and their effects are as follows: - 10-Point Star - Increases the Countdown Timer by ten.
- 20-Point Star - Increases the Countdown Timer by twenty.
- Anytime Egg - Gives Yoshi a full supply of six eggs.
- Anywhere POW - Turns all enemies on the screen into Stars.
- Winged Cloud Maker - Turns all enemies on the screen into Winged Clouds.
- Magnifying Glass - Reveals which coins are Red Coins and secret Winged Clouds.
- Super Green Watermelon - Places a green watermelon in Yoshi's mouth, allowing him to spit seeds.
- Super Red Watermelon - Places a red watermelon in Yoshi's mouth, allowing him to breathe fire.
- Super Blue Watermelon - Places a blue watermelon in Yoshi's mouth, allowing him to freeze enemies.

Items are fun! is a secret level in World 5 of Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. The level can be very short or very long; the player can simply enter the goal roulette (which is in the second screen) right away. However, they must go into the pipe if they wish to obtain 100 points for the level, as the rest of the level is located on the other side of it. Layout[edit]The level within the pipe contains various areas that involve the use of different items, which can range from watermelons, Huffin Puffin chicks, and basic Yoshi Eggs, to the snowball from Ride The Ski Lifts. In order to earn 100 points, the player needs to investigate all of the areas; all of the items in the game appear in this level, so the player can play around with any items they want and must use them to maximum effect to obtain as many Stars, Red Coins, and Flowers as possible.
